DUO Restaurant Group Announces Newly Appointed Executive and Management Team

Key personnel expansion will support growth of Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine and Chris Madrid’s

DUO Restaurant Group, the parent company of Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine and Chris Madrid’s, announced today the promotion of Nelly Mendoza-Labatt and the addition of Brittany Hanna to the executive management team, and the promotion of Oscar Balderas and Pedro Sanchez as general managers of Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine and Chris Madrid’s, respectively.  

“We are fortunate to have assembled such an experienced and talented team of seasoned professionals, whose knowledge and skills will no doubt contribute greatly as we grow,” said Richard Peacock, president of DUO Restaurant Group. “Each of these four has not only helped us navigate recent challenging times—they have played a vital role in helping us thrive in the midst of difficult circumstances. I firmly believe that it is largely because of them that our community has continued to so generously support our restaurants.”

In their new roles with DUO Restaurant Group, Brittany Hanna and Nelly Mendoza-Labatt each bring more than 20 years of experience to their respective positions. Mendoza-Labatt will serve as vice-president of Operations and will use her 17 years’ experience as general manager of Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine as she guides the staff at each restaurant.  

Hanna joins DUO Restaurant Group as controller. She previously served in that role for family business ventures. Prior to that position, she was audit manager for a private accounting firm.

Oscar Balderas and Pedro Sanchez are long-time members of the DUO family. Balderas most recently held dual positions of assistant general manager at Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine and general manager at Chris Madrid’s, where his efforts were instrumental in facilitating a seamless transition upon the latter’s addition to the DUO Restaurant Group.  

Sanchez has been with Chris Madrid’s since 2009, having initially been hired as a busser. He steadily worked his way up through the ranks of the staff, where he was most recently assistant general manager.
