Accounting Supervisor
DUO Restaurant Group (“DUO”) is the family-owned parent company of two of San Antonio’s most revered dining establishments: Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine and Chris Madrid’s. Responsibilities
- Entering transactions and reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Assisting with the onboarding of new employees
- Reconciling and maintaining financial records
- Analyzing general ledger accounts & providing recommendations for adjustments
- Facilitating efficient file sharing and document management
- Compiling reports to show information such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business
- Preparing, inputting, and posting journal entries in general ledger computer system
- Reconciling and ensuring that related companies statements balance
- Reporting sales tax for multiple entities
- Assisting with wire transfers and electronic transactions routing
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Assisting with preparation of budgets, cash flow analysis, and payroll processes
- Assisting with the administration and tracking of assets
- Assisting with deadline tracking, ticklers, and reminders for key tasks related to accounting and administration
- Facilitating the timely completion of special projects and other duties
- Improving continually upon already established internal accounting processes
- Assisting with the creation of monthly financial presentations for multiple entities
- Facilitating the implementation of additional Restaurant365 components including those related to Inventory Management, Labor & Scheduling, and Payroll & HR
- Building strong relationships with co-workers, our long time CPA and other business associates
- Contributing to the team effort by proactively assessing needs and accomplishing related results
- Showing initiative, ambition, and confidence – actively seeking new learning opportunities, approaching projects with confidence and enthusiasm, pro-actively implementing new ideas to improve overall efficiency, camaraderie, and effectiveness of services
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, combined with 3-5 years of work experience, is preferred; however, DUO would consider a non-degreed applicant with 5-10+ year’s experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly in Excel
- Experience with Restaurant365 Software and/or restaurant accounting experience is preferred
- History of traditional, stable work experience with evidence of a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow them to effectively communicate/relate across all levels within and outside of DUO in order to foster and build positive and productive relationships
- Possesses strong attention to detail and accuracy, and is highly organized
- Adapts to constant change and direction and enjoys new challenges
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively prioritize projects and tasks, and possesses the skills and temperament to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts
